The veteran radio host has opinions and a passion for sharing them while being real with his audience. What sets Tierney apart from much of sports punditry is a willingness to stick to his guns when he fires off a take. The Brooklyn-born son of a police detective, Tierney pursued a life in radio following a college baseball career at Marist. At each stop along the way Tierney honed the voice that now reaches across the country.
More than anything, he just likes to talk. So it's always been natural. It's always been a passion. Tierney is a live wire on the air. He grew up admiring Chris Russo for the style and energy he brought. I loved his unpredictability. A little zany, and I mean that in a good way.

One of the reasons I wanted to work with CBS sports radio was to work with passionate, knowledgeable and opinionated hosts, and BT fits that mold. He has all of that plus he has an edge that gets you to think, forces you to react, and keeps the listener on his feet.
His interview skills are second to none and he makes the listener want to come back for more every day. He always wants, and usually gets, the last word, and he always brings it every day. He comes to battle, ready to tangle with callers and colleagues alike. His dedication is unmatched, and really, his only weakness, is his fascination with the Jets. Jeremiah Crowe, Excutive Producer, Tierney is incredible. The best. And that being said, his sports knowledge pales in comparison to his passion and dedication to his craft.
Truly embodies the soul and spirit of the medium. His motor never stops. Without question, B. His enthusiasm and no-nonsense approach elevates everything he touches and his work for St.
He extremely credible, and that translates to every show, game, project or cause. Hey BT, I am a big fan. It really launched my career. And then for that, you know, listen, things end and my contract was up, and my relationship with ESPN ended.
And literally, within two days, I was lucky to basically have two offers to do afternoon drive in a top five market. Then my wife and I had to decide where we wanted to go and what made the most sense. And at that juncture it was San Francisco, which I think was a great move because it really gave me that West Coast perspective. I couldn't sleep a whole lot before the first day on Jan.
